Needed to post something for December and I was looking through past sessions when I came across these image from November 2015.
This family asked for a tree farm as their location and I was able to contact Indian Acres who gave me permission to come during business hours. We got to ride the tractor to a nice spot with some older tree where we would be out of the way of shoppers. I don't usually photograph families so it was exciting to have the four of them to work with.
During this session we used some use props like a sled I brought along, the blanket you see below, Santa Hats, red plastic Christmas Tree balls, and beaded strings. Everyone had fun and the the kids got to play around being goofy.

Friends of the family who gave me the privilege of taking a formal portrait for them.
We lucked out with a beautiful 65 degree fall day after rescheduling
their session from two weekends prior when it was only 40 degrees out.
One of my favorite families. It might have to do with them being my actual family.
Traveled to Smithville Park for this session. I love all the colors. I love fall photo shoots.
I love this family.
Brother and Sister
A few weeks ago I had to chance to photograph a family in their home. I don't usually go to a clients home, but it's winter and I have a small studio so I made the choice to travel to their home. This ended up working out for the best. The wall I photographed the family against was solid brick with a small fireplace.
Working with a larger family is new to me. Posing has been one of my issues in the past and this session was a good challenge. Achieving a triangle shape with the clients heads is always the goal when posing groups of people, but sometimes it doesn't always work out that way like in the photo below.
Regardless of the non-complete triangle I am happy with how this image turned out. The family chose this one to be made into a large canvas portrait.
