It's been over a year since my last maternity session and I was super excited for this one. I played around with using fabric like all of those amazing maternity photographs I see by other photographers. The fabric I used is actually a sheer curtain scarf.
This was also the first time I tried to tackle back lighting. A hard task when you only have two lights. I used one on the right to light the background the best I could and one on the left to light the mommy-to-be. I had to edit the background in PS to make it completely white. What do you think?
I had a great time photographing this couple. Lots of joking around and laughs in between shots.
The image below was a quick idea that came to mind when the mommy-to-be wanted to include the little stuff hippo in a photograph. The hippo will be one of the baby girl's first stuffed animals and will also appear again in her newborn session. Since the hippo wears a tutu I asked the mom to wear one too. lol I love how this image turned out.
I am Lizabeth Carl, photographer and owner of Lizabeth Carl Photography. I am 30 years old and have lived in South Jersey my whole life. I was also probably born in the wrong generation because I am hippie at heart.
