Greenwich is Full of Green Heads in the Summer | South Jersey Urban Decay Photographer | Lizabeth Carl Photography
If you travel to this small town by the river make sure you
bring bug spray when visiting in the summer.
Yes, while visiting the sweet little town of Greenwich we
were warned about the Green Head fly's.
Although, we didn't experience them for ourselves visiting at the end of
the spring season, I'm going to take the locals word for it.
At the end of a dead end road you will find this sweet landscape. Lavender in full bloom and a dirt road leading to possibly nowhere or everywhere beyond a thick set of trees.
Across the street from the farm you will see this out beauty. Most likely owned by the farmer, but abandoned to fall into disrepair. Overgrown, yet still really beautiful.
FINALLY!!! Dogs... yes, due to lack of volunteers and just bad timing I have not photographed any dogs for the animal shelter since last August. Until Now.
Twenty-five awesome dogs and it took 2.5 hours. That's not counting the time to edit, but who counts that. lol
I had two volunteers handling the the dogs for me making it a lot quicker then I would have been with only one.
The best thing is that least five dogs already had applications in that weekend and I was able to proudly place "Adopted" on their photos.
Also, NEW LOGO! Thanks Hearts Speak.
Last year went by to quick and this year seems to be going even quicker. If feels like it was just Christmas a few weeks ago. So, I am completely three months late on writing any blogs for this year.
Here is a recap of last year...
The quality of my work is better and I would like to think more consist.
I photographed a big ZERO for maternity, but I also didn't do any model calls this time around. Thinking about doing one or two in 2017.
I also did photograph only 3 newborns, but all were between the months
of January and April.
My Valentine Mini's went well as did my Mommy and Me sessions. Could have been better, but a few bookings are better then none.
Tried my hand a Groupon... ha won't do that again. (you must discount your product at least 30% to list your services. Then, Groupon takes 50% of what you make from the sale) Anyway, the Groupon offer got me two doggie clients.
Summer ended up being a bummer and the fall was filled with many inquiries,
but few bookings.
Did a few model calls to expand my children's portrait portfolio. This was great. Got the images I needed.
Photographed/attended my favorite clients wedding in October. Very happy with the outcome.
Participated in a fall festival with a booth. Sold older newborn hats from when I first started to crochet. Also, sold a cat tree I made for the occasion. Two were built; one sold. Displayed my samples and was able to get names, phone numbers, and e-mails for my mailing list. Tried to sell my fine art prints (landscapes and smoke photography). Didn't sell any. Need to work on presentation more and variety of fine art prints for future vending.
Well that about sums it up... On Yeah... my cats as always were my favorite models.
Needed to post something for December and I was looking through past sessions when I came across these image from November 2015.
This family asked for a tree farm as their location and I was able to contact Indian Acres who gave me permission to come during business hours. We got to ride the tractor to a nice spot with some older tree where we would be out of the way of shoppers. I don't usually photograph families so it was exciting to have the four of them to work with.
During this session we used some use props like a sled I brought along, the blanket you see below, Santa Hats, red plastic Christmas Tree balls, and beaded strings. Everyone had fun and the the kids got to play around being goofy.
Interested in an outdoor family portraits session?
with your name, phone number, best time to reach you,
and the dates you are available for the session.
I use to ride this path all the time while enjoying the nice weather in the spring and summer. It wasn't til I took a fall ride this year did I see the hidden beauty that autumn holds. The three shots above come from my personal Instagram account. Yes, far from professional with my old school Galaxy 4 Mini phone which doesn't take the greatest pictures, but that day as I was on my ride I just needed to capture the moment and a phone was all I had with me at the time.
Anther great area I ride passed all the time and went overlooked was at the local park. The path is off to the side and rarely used by anyone at the park as there are paved walking paths that encompass the whole park for walkers, children, and people like me on bikes to use. On the other hand the bridge located close by that that path leads from the park to the high school's football field. I take it as a short cut sometimes.
And finally, I had to snap with image of the wonderful yellow leaves falling on this portion of the bike path. This path in particular is used by many people, mostly teens, as they walk to and from school every day. It begins at the crossing of Berlin Road and Linden Ave moving along the side of Berlin Road following the railroad tracks until you reach the traffic light at the end of the road.
