Bomb Cyclone/Polar Vortex | SJ Landscape Photographer | Lizabeth Carl Photography

Snow Day = trip to the wood in South Jersey. Nothing is better then carving the first paths through the fresh snow. I love how the forest looks during a snow storm.  I decided to give each photo a quote to help express the beauty in each image.

"There is nothing in the world more beautiful than the forest
clothed to its very hallows in snow." --- William Sharp

"And into the forest I go, to lose my mind and fine my soul."

"Deep within the winter forest among the snowdrifts wide,
you can find a magic place where all the fairies hide..."
--- Anonymous

"I am seeking for the bridge which leans from the visible to the invisible through reality."

Woods gone White | South Jersey Landscape Photographer | Lizabeth Carl Photography

This winter was a bit crazy. Warm one day and cold the next. The temperature jumped from 70 degrees one day and to cold enough to snow the next morning.

Waking up to snow is nice sometimes.
Heading into the woods, we found a make shift foot bridge.

Tea berries out all over the forest floor.

And someone drove right into the bank of this stream.
I don't like when people mess with the natural order of the forest.

Greenwich is Full of Green Heads in the Summer | South Jersey Urban Decay Photographer | Lizabeth Carl Photography

If you travel to this small town by the river make sure you
bring bug spray when visiting in the summer.

Yes, while visiting the sweet little town of Greenwich we
were warned about the Green Head fly's.

Although, we didn't experience them for ourselves visiting at the end of
the spring season, I'm going to take the locals word for it.
Picture
At the end of a dead end road you will find this sweet landscape.  Lavender in full bloom and a dirt road leading to possibly nowhere or everywhere beyond a thick set of trees.
Picture
Across the street from the farm you will see this out beauty. Most likely owned by the farmer, but abandoned to fall into disrepair. Overgrown, yet still really beautiful.

I use to ride this path all the time while enjoying the nice weather in the spring and summer. It wasn't til I took a fall ride this year did I see the hidden beauty that autumn holds. The three shots above come from my personal Instagram account. Yes, far from professional with my old school Galaxy 4 Mini phone which doesn't take the greatest pictures, but that day as I was on my ride I just needed to capture the moment and a phone was all I had with me at the time.

Anther great area I ride passed all the time and went overlooked was at the local park. The path is off to the side and rarely used by anyone at the park as there are paved walking paths that encompass the whole park for walkers, children, and people like me on bikes to use. On the other hand the bridge located close by that that path leads from the park to the high school's football field. I take it as a short cut sometimes.

And finally, I had to snap with image of the wonderful yellow leaves falling on this portion of the bike path. This path in particular is used by many people, mostly teens, as they walk to and from school every day. It begins at the crossing of Berlin Road and Linden Ave moving along the side of Berlin Road following the railroad tracks until you reach the traffic light at the end of the road.
